The two photovoltaic installations that New Concisa had at our headquarters in the Sierra de Ascoy industrial estate (Cieza) are now joined by seven new ones. These systems generate a total of 2.2 megawatts of peak power, which amounts to 3,398 megawatt-hours per year—almost half of the energy the factory needs to operate. Protecting the environment is, for us, a fundamental objective for the future of present and future generations.
2030 Goal
Our commitment to sustainability is a differentiating value that has been very well received by customers, suppliers, and consumers. In this regard, alongside New Concisa’s commitment to quality, consistency, and progress—our corporate values—there is also strong support for decarbonising industrial activities and for the use of renewable energy.
The new photovoltaic installations, in addition to benefiting the surrounding area, represent significant savings in production costs. Our goal is to reduce our carbon footprint to 0%. We have currently reduced it by 70%, and we want it to reach zero within an estimated eight years.
In addition, staff schedules have been adjusted to work during the central hours of the day. This represents considerable energy savings, since from 12:00 to 16:00 the plant generates even more electricity than it needs.
Leaders in cephalopods
New Concisa is a global leader in the processing and distribution of seafood products, especially cephalopods, with annual growth of around 30%–40% and offices in the USA, Latin America, and Africa.
